Inside the new Scania DC13 SUPER

The latest DC13 is part of Scania’s new SUPER powertrain and represents a significant step forward compared with the previous-generation 13-litre engine. Rather than being a simple update of its predecessor, the DC13 SUPER was developed as an all-new engine platform.

While the previous-generation DC13 used six individual cylinder heads and a single camshaft positioned inside the engine block to operate the valves through pushrods and rocker arms, the new DC13 SUPER takes a fundamentally different approach.

For the first time in Scania’s modern heavy-duty engine range, it combines a single-piece cylinder head spanning all six cylinders with two overhead camshafts. This modern DOHC design allows more precise valve control and improved airflow through the engine, contributing to more efficient combustion and better overall performance.

Further technical improvements include an optimised XPI fuel injection system, a redesigned turbocharger, and a Twin-SCR exhaust aftertreatment system. Compared with the previous generation, these changes significantly improve thermal efficiency, allowing the engine to convert up to 50% of the fuel’s energy into usable power – an exceptional level for a diesel engine.

The new DC13 SUPER engine range also raises the performance ceiling of Scania’s six-cylinder engines. While the previous-generation DC13 topped out at 540 hp and 2,700 Nm, the most powerful DC13 SUPER now delivers up to 560 hp and 2,800 Nm.

Combined with Scania’s latest Opticruise G25CM and G33CM Overdrive gearboxes and new rear-axle technology, the complete SUPER powertrain can reduce fuel consumption by up to 8% compared with the previous generation.

The result is a modern 13-litre engine that combines increased efficiency with strong low-RPM performance – while also introducing its own distinctive soundscape.

Thanks to our brand-new Scania NG SUPER 460 DC13S Sound Pack for ETS2, you are now able to experience the DC13 SUPER powertrain in its fullest glory!

The 2023 Scania 460G SUPER was recorded using 10 synchronised, studio-grade microphones placed around the engine, intake, exhaust and interior to capture its complete soundscape in the highest possible detail and quality.

Every single detail of the truck’s soundscape has been carefully recorded and implemented into the Sound Pack – including numerous additional effects that go beyond ETS2’s standard sound mechanics, such as a fully functional air compressor, a dynamic engine fan, a dynamic emissions-control system, gearbox whining noise, and many other details.

Being an Evolution 3 Sound Pack, it provides an expansive stereo image and a multi-directional soundscape that changes depending on your position relative to the truck — whether you're in front, next to, or behind the truck, all truck sounds respond to your position, just like in real life.

Additionally, this Sound Pack includes four standalone Scania DC13 SUPER engines, ranging from 420 to 560 hp.

These engines feature realistic performance characteristics based on original Scania datasheets, including authentic engine parameters, realistic torque curves, matching Scania Opticruise G33CM transmissions, multiple differential ratios (1.95 - 4.11), as well as custom transmission and shift-logic parameters.

Why did I change platforms?

Moving from Gumroad to Sellfy gives me significantly more freedom to design and expand the store according to the needs of both my customers and my work.

Instead of serving only as a place to purchase Sound Packs, the new store can also provide dedicated pages for FAQs, customer support, news, manuals, tutorials, insights into my work and many other resources.
This allows me to bring my products, support, information and behind-the-scenes content together in one central place – something that was not possible with Gumroad.

Sellfy also charges considerably lower sales fees. As a result, a larger share of every purchase directly supports my work and can be reinvested into new truck recording sessions, equipment, software and the continued development of future Sound Packs.

This is only the beginning!

The new store already offers clearer and more detailed product descriptions, a dedicated FAQ covering important questions about installation, compatibility and in-game settings, as well as a Contact & Support Page that makes it easier to find help and get in touch with me.

However, the current version is only the foundation of what is still to come. More dedicated pages, resources and features – including news, manuals and tutorials, development updates and insights into my truck recording sessions – will be introduced and expanded over time.

What will happen to the Gumroad Store?

Once the new store has become fully established, new purchases will be available exclusively through Sellfy. The exact date of this transition will be announced separately.

Do not worry though, the Gumroad Store will remain fully accessible to all existing customers. Previous purchases and any future product updates released for them will continue to be available through Gumroad, so no immediate action is required.

I will also introduce a dedicated transfer request form in the near future, giving existing customers the option to transfer their previous Gumroad purchases to the new Sellfy Store. The form is currently being prepared, and further details will be announced soon.
This transfer will be entirely optional, your existing purchases will remain available through Gumroad either way.

Small adjustments to product prices

Alongside the launch of the new store, the price of every Sound Pack has been increased by €0.50. This small adjustment has become necessary due to the sharp rise in fuel, travel and other production-related costs since the beginning of March 2026.

The additional revenue will help me maintain and further improve the quality of my work while continuing to invest in new recording sessions, equipment, product updates and future Sound Packs.

I have aimed to keep the increase as reasonable as possible and sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support.
